Petroglyph thieves cut ancient drawings right out of the side of rocks

iheartchaos:

Stealing a sculpture or a painting is one thing… they can picked up and moved. Petroglyphs carved into the sides of mountains are something different all together, since they’re permanently etched into rock, and they should last as long as that chunk of rock lasts. Or, if you’re a dickhole history-destroying, baby killing petroglyph thief, you can use power tools to cut the carvings out of the rock, which has been happening more frequently in California.

Goddamn assholes.

Through all the flip-flops, there has been one consistency in the campaign of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney: a contempt for the electorate.

People are saying a lot of bad things and boycotting my restaurant,” Scott Van Duzer, 46, told POLITICO. “There’s no middle line anymore, and that’s exactly what’s wrong with our country right now.

“Look guys! He’s one of ours and he doesn’t agree with us. How can he not agree with us? Mitt Romney is for small business! Building things yourself! Let’s destroy his small business and make sure his family has to live off of food stamps which we will complain about as well!”

There is a big difference in boycotting a corporation like Chick-Fil-A over what they’re using their funds to promote and boycotting a small mom-and-pops business owner for who he plans to vote for. It’s called bullying. Shame on you!

We all know by now that Chick-fil-A has donated millions of dollars over the years to anti-gay groups like the Family Research Council. What we didn’t know for sure - until now - is why they did it.

In a recent interview with the Baptist Press, Chick-fil-A COO Dan Cathy admitted that the restaurant has taken an official stance against marriage equality. It’s not surprising, but it still stings a little:

Cathy told the Baptist Press he aims to operate the restaurant chain “on biblical principles.” When asked whether his company had an established position against marriage equality, Cathy said, “guilty as charged.”

He added, “We are very much supportive of the family — the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that. … We know that it might not be popular with everyone, but thank the Lord, we live in a country where we can share our values and operate on biblical principles.”

Next time you think about eating at Chick-fil-A, think twice, now that you know exactly where your money is going.

Fuck Chick-fil-A - just make the sandwich yourself! Handy link stolen from Randy Millholland’s Twitter: http://blip.tv/hilah-cooking/hilah-cooking-chick-fil-gay-sandwich-6210443

This blew our minds when we saw it, so to celebrate the release of The Amazing Spiderman, we just had to share: way back in the 1970s, Marvel Comics teamed up with Planned Parenthood on a comic book that pitted Spiderman against a villain who was out to give teens the wrong information about sex. And we all know there’s nothing that Spiderman hates more than the spread of medically inaccurate information! Check it out.

That comic has warped my fragile little mind…

The New York Times did their homework and they’re letting you know: Plan B (aka “the morning-after pill”) mainly works by preventing sperm and egg from meeting, and there’s actually no evidence that it prevents an already fertilized egg from implanting. Plus, it’s safe, effective, and a huge relief to tons of people. Give us a Like or a Reblog if you’re glad emergency contraception exists! Read the entire article here.

Someone asked us:

Q. What’s going to happen now that Arizona has cut off funding for Planned Parenthood? I rely on PP for my birth control, will I be unable to get it now?

If you’re concerned, you’re not alone. Planned Parenthood Arizona provides essential, lifesaving cancer screenings,…
