This is JASON FYLES and he goes to my university (Newcastle University, North East of England) He is 19 years old, 5’8, ginger hair and slim. He was last seen in the Sandyford area at 2:45am on Thursday morning and has not been seen since. He was wearing a blue shirt, grey cardigan, beige chinos and brown ankle boots. Everyone in uni is so worried about him along with his family and friends. We are coming together as a university to appeal for his safe return. If you have been on Tumblr on the past couple of days, it’s likely that you’ve seen this post. I happened to stumble upon it randomly on my dashboard and usually, I scroll past really long texts but this one caught me by surprise because I recognized every single person in this photo. This was posted by someone I know very well who currently goes by the name Lexus Willow, but I know her as ‘Lex’. Lex and I were really close about four (maybe five? idk) years ago. We were best friends so obviously, I know each and every one of the people in that photo by name.

While true, her home life wasn’t ever ideal (her mom made us stop listening to ‘I Kiss A Girl’ at her 16th birthday party because they didn’t support that in their house) but honestly, her life isn’t as bad as she’s making it out to be. While her parents weren’t supportive of her being gay, the reason they are so harsh on her is because of her own dumb life choices. She has done tons of incredibly shitty things to her family that left be absolutely dumbstruck. She goes off with girl after girl, saying they’re the one, write them pretty songs but use them and uses her family as a springboard when she has nowhere else to go.

She admitted to cheating on her ex-fiancee with dozens of girls, but plays if off to everyone as she was the victim and everything was this girls fault. She uses the people around her, including her family. In fact, this one girl was at her graduation party, interacting with her mother and they knew who she was.

Lex’s life is far from perfect. She’s had a pretty rough past with being adopted and sure, her parents aren’t always 100% supportive of her lifestyle choices, but this isn’t a strict matter of her being queer. It’s her as a person. I normally wouldn’t really care that she’s getting attention for this but the fact that people are sending her MONEY to meet up with a girl she’s never met before (she does this a lot, btw) and say they want to write to Ellen is absolutely preposterous. Until Lex gets her life straightened out, this is not what she needs. She needs her family and you are all enabling her to continue on with her bad habits.

If you see posts about her, especially about donating money or writing to Ellen, PLEASE RESIST. There are so many more people who deserve this more than her and her family are NOT bad people. They aren’t evil. They truly want what’s best for their daughter, biological or not, and this is going to rip their family apart. I hope I don’t come across as a bitter person, but it honestly disgusts me that people are feeding into this when it’s not true.

If Lex sees this, I’m really sorry. I care about you deeply but this is going too far and you KNOW IT. You are stealing people’s money for your selfish needs and lying to them and it has to end. There are people out there who really are in horrible situations with no support whatsoever and they aren’t being heard but for some reason, people are eating this up, even though you’re the one who ripped your face off of that picture and have admitted to that. Please, please stop. I’m sure you could easily figure out who this is, maybe not, but I really think people deserve to know this. Your family loves you and this will tear them apart.

Just be careful with this money business everyone.

Agreed. In fact, you should all send me your money so I can hold on to it lest any of you accidentally give it to someone who has no business with it.

A 39-year-old Muslim cab driver who served in the Iraq war says that an executive from an aviation company accused him of being a jihadist and broke his jaw in what activists are calling a hate crime.

Mohamed A. Salim told The Washington Post that Emerald Aviation President Ed Dahlberg attacked him after he picked him up at Country Club of Fairfax in Northern Virginia at around 2 a.m. on Friday. Dahlberg had been drinking and was told that he would have to finish his open beer before getting into the cab.

Salim recorded audio of the encounter on his cell phone.

Dahlberg can be heard asking Salim, who emigrated from Somalia, to define “jihad” and then lumping him in with “radical fucking Muslims blowing people up all over the world.”

“Denounce those motherfuckers now!” Dahlberg demands. “If you’re a fucking Muslim flying jets into the fucking World Trade Center then fuck you. I will slice your fucking throat right now.”

After Salim threatens to call 911, Dahlberg can be seen grabbing for the cell phone.

Salim said that Dahlberg left the cab, but then returned and broke his jaw before running into the woods.

Dahlberg was charged with misdemeanor assault and police are determining if charges should be elevated to a felony hate crime. The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) on Monday said that medical records and the 11-minute cell phone recording were being used as evidence in the case.

In a statement, Dahlberg’s attorney, Demetry Pikrallidas, admitted that his client “became rather emotional as the discussion turned to jihad and 9/11, and especially heated on the subject of jihadists who want to harm America.”

Pikrallidas insisted that Dahlberg did not assault Salim.

The website for Dahlberg’s company, Emerald Aviation, was offline for four days of “scheduled maintenance” as of Wednesday afternoon. A cached copy of the website listed him as the president and said he had “20 years experience in the field of business and commercial aviation” and was known for “transparent business transactions and always effectively representing the best interests of his clients.”

Salim is a naturalized U.S. citizen and is an Army Reserve sergeant who has worked in intelligence and as a linguist. He served in Iraq and at the Guantanamo Bay detention center.

“I sacrificed for this country,” Salim told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer on Wednesday. “And I myself was fighting the terrorists and I’m against acts of violence. I’m not a terrorist. I’m not a jihadist. I’m American like you.”

“Whether he’s guilty of assault or not is up to a jury to decide, but the video makes it clear that the guy is a bigoted asshole,” Jalopnik’s Patrick George observed on Wednesday. “There’s no excuse for treating someone else this way.”

There’s not enough embarrassment in the world to heap on this guy. I’m waiting for the empty “I’m sorry if my unchecked irrational bigotry offended you” press release.

If you think that the nice guy ranting only happens on the internet, you’ve never had to deal with your thoroughly drunken friend shouting about how no girls would go out with a nice guy like him, even though he’s surrounded by single women he ignores because they aren’t attractive enough for him.

If you think guys getting pissy and escalating matters because you told people to stop making sex jokes is a feature of the internet, well, you’ve never asked anyone to stop making jokes that make you uncomfortable.

If you think that inappropriate comments and requests for sex are an internet thing, you’ve never tried to stop a coworker or boss from hitting on you repeatedly, or a head of security, or the guy at the convenience store across the street.

If you think that being shouted at and asked to show people your tits just because you present as a woman only happens in chat rooms and online games, you’ve never walked past a frat house, or, unfortunately, through the main thoroughfares of either university I’ve attended.

If you think unasked for commentary on a woman’s looks only happens because girls post pictures on internet forums (which probably means they’re asking for it), you’ve never been at a bus stop, or the city square, or a mall, or… well, anywhere, really.

If you think insecure men trying to drive women out of activism only happens in online male-dominated communities, you’ve never paid attention politics. Or Fox. Or CNN, sadly.

If you think the reaction to rape victims is bad on twitter, try sharing that experience in person. Or try even standing up for a rape victim. Count how many minutes until someone points out “but men can be falsely accused! The woman just changed her mind! You just can’t believe those drunk *insert varying level of insulting reference to gender*!”

I live in Oklahoma.

I am located not 15 miles from where this storm took place today. Back in 1999 on May 3rd a violent tornado ripped through the EXACT areas that the one today did and took 36 lives on that date in 1999.

All of my family members are accounted for, but there are many, many people in my state without homes, power, transportation, or anything that they’ve known for their entire lives. They are missing their own family and friends.

Moore, OK looks like an apocalyptic like warzone.

The associated press just posted: “State medical examiner’s office: 37 killed in Oklahoma tornado; death toll expected to rise.”

I hope that any of my followers out there that live here in Oklahoma are safe and well. These tornado outbreaks have also ripped through some of Texas and Kansas, so again for all of you living in those areas as well I hope that you and your family are safe and sound.

This tornado today, what they are saying is the worst one in history, ripped through neighborhoods, elementary schools, hospitals, businesses, and farms. The devastation here is unreal. There are so many children and people still missing.

Now, the point of this post. I am asking for help for my state. Please help. Not for me, but for my neighbors, friends, and for people who are in desperate need. Please.
